Tired of the ubiquitous capacious slouchy hobo, Bag 001 was born from the desire for a work bag that could fit all the necessary items while retaining a certain feminine elegance and form. Starting with a bold, slightly structured shape, side gussets were added that fold in or out allowing the bag to contract and expand as needed. With no hardware, the handles are thread through a clever fold-over to close the bag. It is roomy enough for the laptop, notebook and even a change of shoes, yet form is not sacrificed to practicality.

Designed to be a compliment to Bag 001, 002 is the everyday bag for a busy urban woman. An accordion gusset creates a pocket for everything – no more digging for the keys buried at the bottom of the bag – while creating a highly adaptive shape that can expand and contract as needed. A simple knotted strap allows the bag to be easily worn on the shoulder or cross body, lengthened to fit over that big puffy coat and shortened when sundress weather comes along. A true flat-pack, it is the ultimate travel bag, tucked into that one last final inch of space in the carry on.

bag 002
Inspired by my father’s discovery that a tote bag was more comfortable to carry than his briefcase, I designed a series of vertical briefcases. The change in direction meant the swing of the briefcase put far less strain on the wrist and the longer profile meant it didn’t bang into the thigh. The dimensions of the bag allow for legal paper or architectural sheets to be easily slipped in and a careful system of hidden magnets mean the case can be securely closed with no hardware.
